The European Commission has recently launched a new initiative to “Increase Digitalisation Awareness & Readiness of EU Communities”. The aim of this initiative is to support EU communities at the early stages or that have not yet begun their digital transformation journey by providing resources, best practices, and training to develop digital strategies.

In this context, the European Commission has launched a public consultation to inform the drafting of the future “Apply AI Strategy”, an initiative aiming to strengthen the adoption and deployment of AI in key industries and the public sector in the EU.

The European Commission has launched the Destination Earth (DestinE) initiative to build a virtual replica of the Earth, with the goal of enabling digital twins of the Earth system by 2030. As of today, DestinE consists of two digital twins: one on climate change adaptation, and one on extreme weather events, with more replicas on other thematic domains such as oceans and biodiversity to follow.
