What is the Geospatial World Forum (GWF)?
The European Commission has launched the Destination Earth (DestinE) initiative to build a virtual replica of the Earth, with the goal of enabling digital twins of the Earth system by 2030. As of today, DestinE consists of two digital twins: one on climate change adaptation, and one on extreme weather events, with more replicas on other thematic domains such as oceans and biodiversity to follow.

Digitalisation support tools and Digital Twins
The European Commission has recently launched a new initiative to “Increase Digitalisation Awareness & Readiness of EU Communities”. The aim of this initiative is to support EU communities at the early stages or that have not yet begun their digital transformation journey by providing resources, best practices, and training to develop digital strategies.

The European Commission recently launched an initiative to increase digitalisation awareness and readiness of EU communities, which aims to support all cities and regions that are in their digital transformation process, providing resources, best practices and training for the development of digitalisation strategies.
This document contains the technical specifications of the Living-in.EU (LI.EU) upscaling declaration initiative and is based on existing minimal interoperability mechanisms (MIMs) plus some additional fundamental building blocks – hence the name: MIMs Plus.
La Commission européenne a récemment lancé une nouvelle initiative visant à Accroître la sensibilisation et la préparation des communautés de l’UE à la transition numérique. L'objectif de cette initiative est de soutenir les communautés de l'UE qui en sont aux premiers stades ou qui n'ont pas encore entamé leur transformation numérique en leur fournissant des ressources, des bonnes pratiques et des formations pour élaborer des stratégies numériques.
