Since COVID-19 hit the world as a global pandemic, the importance of connectivity has become more obvious. Europe needs to be better prepared, do more stress tests on the infrastructure and increase infrastructure and connections between the Member States. Strategies have to be set to establish how critical entities can prevent, resist and recover from disruptions.

Meeting with Living-in.EU Tech Subgroup
The Living-in.EU Tech Subgroup meets every two months to review and evolve the MIMs Plus set of minimal interoperability mechanisms.
OASC is returning to its roots with the Connected Smart and Sustainable Cities and Communities Conference we are organizing in Brussels on 17-18 January. Connected Smart and Sustainable Cities and Communities (CSSCC) is an annual event (previously known as CxC Festival) to bring the community of OASC members and partners together – an event that is open for all to join.
The next online meeting with the supporters of the Living-in.EU movement will take place on 20th of December from 13:30 to 14:30 CET.
Digitalising Europe’s railways: what’s in for passengers and freight?
The railway is a sustainable and futureproof mode of transport for both passengers and freight. To make the railways in Europe futureproof and to fulfil the ambitious goals of the European Green Deal a push of digitalisation is needed. On the Brenner axis we are committed to make rail better using new technology and digitalisation to increase the performance on the existing tracks and in the future to use the new Brenner Base Tunnel in the most efficient way possible.
The Automotive Regions Alliance (ARA) was founded at the 150th Plenary Session of the CoR in June 2022 to represent the interests of European regions with an automotive industry, in order to accompany the fundamental change in this sector and its impact on our regions. The first political meeting of the regional presidents of the ARA member regions will adopt it's short- and medium-term strategic goals for the next years and discuss with European Commissioner Nicolas Schmit the needs for a just transition for regions with a strong automotive industry.
The seminar in Lednice will bring together representatives of the European Parliament, the Committee of the Regions and the European Commission, as well as of local development projects funded and supported by EU programmes. Together, they will celebrate the launch of the Czech Rural Pact as well as take a closer look at rural development and remedying disparities between European regions through financial and practical instruments.
How can digital tools make citizens' lives better? Be it in the field of digital communications, public services, or AI technologies? This session will explore case studies of employment of digital tools by European cities and regions. Bringing together experts in various fields, to showcase innovative approaches and best practices for developing and deploying digital technology in a way that improves people's lives.
Speakers:
This workshop will highlight different regional best practices to showcase, from multiple angles, how regions can support youth empowerment by using cohesion and other types of funding at the core of the digital and green transitions. Examples will include public transport in rural areas, effective distance learning, strategies tackling depopulation, education mobility programmes and much more, reflecting on the European Year of Youth in multiple regional policy areas.
