AnciLab
AnciLab S.r.l. is a service company founded in 1999 by ANCI Lombardia and Ancitel S.p.A. In 2013, ANCI Lombardia acquired 100% of the shares, becoming the sole shareholder of Ancitel Lombardia. In 2016, Ancitel Lombardia changed its name into AnciLab S.r.l. AnciLab operates with its headquarters in Milan and has a widespread presence throughout the national territory, collaborating with a dense network of local authorities.
AnciLab has substantial experience in driving digital transformation and fostering smart communities. The efforts focus on supporting local authorities and public administration in adopting digital technologies addressing the digital transition. Through its Research and Development labs, AnciLab explores artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and sustainable city planning to support local administrations in addressing digital and sustainability challenges. AnciLab is deeply involved in the design of European digital projects and assist organizations in navigating public funding opportunities, especially in the context of Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). AnciLab plays a pivotal role by fostering the integration of digital technologies at the local level. Through its initiatives, AnciLab helps municipalities, public administrations, and local businesses transition into more connected, efficient, and sustainable environments. One of the core components of their smart community efforts is the focus on sustainability, energy efficiency, and digital infrastructure that empower communities to optimize public services and enhance citizens' quality of life. AnciLab's approach to smart communities includes promoting the use of renewable energy, supporting the development of energy communities, and improving public services through digital tools like smart lighting, sustainable mobility, and circular economy initiatives. These efforts not only enhance environmental sustainability but also increase community resilience by leveraging digital solutions AnciLab is a digital facilitation hub in the framework of the initiative “DigitaleFacile”, framed under Measure 1.7.2 of the PNRR of the Italian Department for Digital Transformation, aimed at providing the necessary tools for Lombard citizens to increase their widespread digital skills.
