The article “Urban Digital Twins for Smart Cities and Citizens: The Case Study of Herrenberg, Germany” presents a prototype digital twin designed to support participatory urban planning. Combining 3D city models, mobility and wind simulations, and volunteered geographic data, the tool enables citizens and planners to visualize and discuss urban scenarios through virtual reality. The study shows that such digital twins can enhance collaboration, communication, and citizen engagement, contributing to smarter and more sustainable cities.
