Minimal Technical Specifications and Standardisation Requirements
This report outlines the foundational technical specifications necessary for various systems and products, with a focus on essential hardware, software, and network requirements. Additionally, it highlights the importance of adhering to standardisation protocols to promote interoperability, streamline development, and enhance system security.
The development and deployment of technological solutions to tackle challenges in European smart communities require a clear understanding of the minimal technical specifications and standardisation requirements to ensure compatibility, efficiency, and scalability.
In response to these challenges, the Living-in.EU initiative provides the environment for developing the Minimal Interoperability Mechanisms (MIMs Plus). These mechanisms provide a practical framework for cities and communities to collaborate by enabling data exchange and system interoperability across diverse digital platforms. MIMs Plus extends beyond standardisation by offering flexible, minimalistic solutions designed to facilitate cross-border cooperation and innovation. By promoting MIMs Plus compliant technical solutions, applications and services, this report supports the creation of a connected, resilient, and future-proof digital infrastructure for the European Union and beyond.
