Predictive modelling and real-time analysis: Real-time forecasting and monitoring of bicycle use

BDTI event 2
Online Trainings |
20 Nov 2024

This workshop is part of the Big Data Test Infrastructure Skills Studio of DG DIGIT of the European Commission.

Participants will learn to forecast bicycle traffic, based on a case from Paris using historical data, and compare the predictions with real-time data. This practical use case will demonstrate the entire process, from analysing historical data to generating forecasts and visualising both forecasted and real-time data.

Additionally, participants will learn how to set up an automated pipeline to continuously update and visualise real-time data, providing valuable insights for urban planning and promoting sustainable transportation.

All the tools used during these workshops are available for free to EU public administrations through the BDTI platform. Learn how to apply for BDTI here.

What you’ll get from this workshop:

  • A solid understanding of predictive modelling using real-world data
  • Hands-on experience with data tools like R, MINIO, and MongoDB
  • Practical insights into setting up automated data pipelines
  • Guidance on visualising data and interpreting results
  • Resources and tools to continue learning and applying data analysis techniques

Who should join?

This beginner-friendly workshop is ideal for professionals in public administration, and anyone interested in data analysis, urban planning, or sustainable transportation. No prior experience in data analysis is required.
