As the funded phase of the Living-in.EU initiative comes to an end on 30 September 2026, we would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for your participation, contributions, and commitment to advancing sustainable local digital transformation across Europe.

Over the past years, the Living-in.EU community has brought together cities, regions, networks, researchers, public administrations, and experts to collaborate on common challenges and opportunities in digital transformation. Your engagement has been instrumental in building this vibrant community and driving forward the goals of the initiative.

What happens after 30 September 2026?

The Go Li.EU project, which has supported the development and coordination of the Living-in.EU community, will formally end on 30 September 2026. As a result, coordinated activities carried out under the funded project will cease. While Living-in.EU will no longer operate through a dedicated funded project, efforts are ongoing to explore future governance and sustainability options with organisations that may continue or reactivate elements of the movement in the future.

Continuing collaboration through the network partners

If you are a member of one or more of the Go Li.EU partner networks, you will continue to be able to engage with peers and collaborate through those existing communities:

• Eurocities

• OASC

• ERRIN

• ENoLL

• CEMR

These networks will continue their respective activities and remain valuable spaces for exchange, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. See Working Groups below for contact information.

Living-in.EU platform closure

For security and maintenance reasons, the Living-in.EU online collaboration platform will remain accessible until 14 December 2026, after which it will be permanently closed.

We encourage you to download or save any materials that may be relevant to your work before that date. After this date, documents and files will be archived and accessible at https://go-living-in.eu/ 

Working Groups

If you are a member of one or more of the Living-in.EU Working Groups and have any questions regarding access to Working Group materials, you can contact your respective Working Group lead(s):

• Legal and Financial Working Group: ana.georgieva@eurocities.eu 

• Education and Capacity-building Working Group: danae.pantelide@enoll.org 

• Monitoring and Measuring Working Group: Kyle.Galea@errin.eu 

• Technical Working Group: sophie@oascities.org. MIMs-specific working groups and governance activities are not impacted by the closure of the funded phase of Go Li.EU. Members of the Technical Working Group and other interested stakeholders can continue to contribute to the MIMs through the established OASC governance framework.

To continue engaging with the wider European digital transformation ecosystem, we encourage you to join the Interoperable Europe Portal: https://interoperable-europe.ec.europa.eu/ which provides access to communities, events, resources, solutions, and discussions related to interoperability, smart cities, local digital twins, and digital transformation.

Privacy Notice

As the main data controller for the Living-in.EU stakeholder database, Eurocities will archive the personal data of Signatories and Supporters.

As of October 1, 2026:

• Your personal data will be archived and no longer used for Living-in.EU related communication, except to facilitate possible future communication related to the continuation/reactivation of the Living-in.EU community. Should a successor organisation or governance mechanism be established, you will receive a communication informing you and inviting you to renew your consent if you wish to continue receiving updates and remain part of the community database.

• Your personal data will not be shared with third parties for communication purposes. 

• This retention period will be of one year (until 30 September 2027), after which your data will be deleted.

Although the funded phase of Living-in.EU is coming to a close, the ambition of building interoperable, human-centric, and sustainable digital communities in Europe continues.
