The Administrative Modernisation Agency, I.P. (AMA) is the public institute in charge of the areas of administrative modernisation and simplification and electronic administration, for the Portuguese Public Administration. 

AMA is implementing the National Strategy for Smart Territories, in which is being created a local and regional community that will leverage the concept of smart cities to all national territory in a series of initiatives to support digital transition of Portuguese cities and communities. Some of those initiatives are: 1) provide a analytical platform for local and regional authorities to manage the territory in real time; 2) funding to acquire specific platforms for municipality management (e.g., waste management, irrigation, buildings energy management, street lighting); 3) funding for the implementation of digital twins; 4) training for public administration to support digital transition.
