Have Your Say: Consultation on the Interoperable Europe Agenda

Interoperable Europe Agenda consultation
News| Published: 19 Jun 2025

The European Commission has launched a consultation to collect feedback from stakeholders, including public administrations, on the role of cross-border interoperability for digital public services. The feedback will inform preparation of the Interoperable Europe Agenda, the EU’s main instrument for coordinating priorities related to interoperability solutions and outlining the roadmap for implementing the Interoperable Europe Act. Public administrations at all levels are invited to submit insights at this link until Thursday, 10 July 2025.

How is the Interoperable Europe Agenda governed?

The Interoperable Europe Act sets up the Interoperable Europe Board, which is composed of one representative from each Member State and the European Commission, and observing entities such as the Committee of the Regions. This Board is steering the Interoperable Europe Agenda, a strategic document to plan the development of cross-border interoperability of trans-European digital public services.

What does the Agenda include?

The Agenda covers the following priorities:
1. Ongoing and planned Interoperable Europe support measures
2. Follow-up actions to innovation measures including support of open-source interoperability solutions
3. Synergies with other relevant EU and national programmes and initiatives
4. Indication of available financial opportunities in support of the priorities included
5. Needs assessment for the development of interoperability solutions

How is the Agenda developed?

The Agenda consultation will take place via the Interoperable Europe Portal, it is expected to be launched in June 2025 and it will remain open for 4 weeks until Thursday, 10 July 2025. Building on the evidence gathered via this consultation, the Interoperable Europe Agenda will be drafted in collaboration with the Member States and submitted to the Interoperable Europe Board for adoption in December 2025.
