The Local Digital Twins for Smart and Sustainable Communities (LDT4SSC) project, funded by the Digital Europe Programme (DEP), invites applications for its Third Round of Open Calls. 

This round supports pilot projects across three complementary Work Strands, covering the full lifecycle of Local Digital Twins (LDTs): interconnection, co-creation and advanced AI-driven capabilities. 

Work Strands 

Work Strand 1 (WS1): Interconnecting Existing LDTs  
Connecting and federating already operational LDTs to form a European-scale, interoperable network. 

Work Strand 2 (WS2): Creating New LDTs Based on Shared Challenges 
Supporting cities and communities to jointly design and deploy new LDTs addressing common territorial needs. 

Work Strand 3 (WS3): Adding Advanced AI-Based Capabilities to LDTs 
Developing innovative, AI-driven and open-source components to expand the EU LDT Toolbox. 

What can you get? 

  • Up to €1,000,000 per consortium  
  • 50% co-funding required  
  • Maximum €500,000 per third party  
  • Project duration: 12–18 months

  • Deadline: 13 July 2026 (23:59 CEST)
