Technical specifications mapping (gaps between supply and demand side requirements)
This report is dedicated to understanding the gaps between the supply and demand sides’ requirements for technical specifications and standards in the context of technology procurements. This task was supported by a variety of data collection methods such as a survey, workshops and interviews. These methods granted the opportunity to interact with public (N=46) and private sector stakeholders (N=35) who have vast experience in technology procurement for smart communities. The interactions allowed a thorough analysis yielding the identification of commonly used technical specifications and standards alongside user experience testimonies. The report translates this into a concise gap analysis and finally
concludes four recommendations:
● upskill civil servants
● promote the adoption of MIMs Plus
● Exchange best practices
● Rethink ICT procurement legislation
