BDTI Skills Studio series: data-driven use cases
Join this insightful panel discussion organised by the European Commission Big Data Test Infrastructure (BDTI) Skills Studio on the innovative use cases of data-driven solutions by public administrations across the European Union. This event will highlight examples of data analytics use cases from local governments across the European Union, focusing on leveraging open data:
- Valter Ferreira, Intelligence Specialist in the Intelligence Service Centre, will share insights on using cell phone data to analyse human behaviour for the Lisbon City Council, along with challenges and successes that have come with their data-driven journey.
- Bo Fristed, Chief of Innovation Technology and Creativity (ITK), will share insights on fleet optimisation and green mobility for the City of Aarhus, along with their “open DNA”—open source, open data, and open innovation.
- Natasa Atanasova, Associate Professor at the University of Ljubljana, and Matej Radinja, Researcher at the University of Ljubljana, from the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering, will share insights improving water quality prediction, water management, and flow rate estimation using hybrid modeling approaches with applications in lakes, urban drainage, and natural catchments in the City of Ljubljana.
These use cases illustrate how data-driven insights, powered by open data, can help governments to respond quickly to challenges, improve efficiency, foster transparency, and create more effective policies to benefit their citizens.
