Event Report: Citizen-centred innovation for green and digital cities

This report refers to the event Citizen-centred innovation for green and digital cities that took place on 30 September 2025 during the OpenLivingLab Days event.

 

The session consisted of two parts: 

  1. a presentation part where the projects involved (Go Li.EU, SMARCO, UTMC, ClimaGen) were presented, together with the benefits for the cities and outcomes of interest to the audience, and

CommuniLab is an online platform developed under the CommuniCity project, a citizen-centred project funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe Programme.

Explore the Cities Portal: your single-entry point to EU support for cities

As a first step, the EU Cities web-Portal offers a place to explore and seize opportunities offered by the EU. With its search engine, urban stakeholders are able to find information about numerous initiatives and instruments and be redirected towards useful sources. It acts as a gateway for urban actors to also stay informed about upcoming calls, webinars and urban policy events, and find relevant data and tools.

Developed within the framework of the CommuniCity project, CommuniLab serves as a bridge between local challenges and technological innovation, helping stakeholders design, test, and scale digital pilots that address real societal needs.

Climate Mission: DIY Manual for Stakeholder and Citizen Engagement

MIP4Adapt has developed a “do-it-yourself” (DIY) manual to help regional and local authorities identify which participatory activities and tools can be implemented in each step of the Regional Adaptation Support Tool (RAST) cycle, including good practices and local experiences. This will help build a common understanding and ownership of climate adaptation plans and actions, which is key to their successful delivery.
