The first calls for proposals for 5G for Smart Communities call 1 under the Connecting Europe Facility Digital programme was published on Thursday 13th January.

The budget for this first call is 25 million euros. The deadline date to submit project proposals is 22nd March, 2022.

An information day for potential applicants will be held on 19th January.

This first call for proposals for “5G for Smart Communities” aims to support the early development of 5G-based systems that enable use cases for certain socio-economic drivers (SEDs). This will provide unprecedented opportunities to local communities to accelerate the take-up of 5G connectivity and allow its citizens and businesses to appreciate its benefits for services of general interest."
